Message from Our Principal

Hello Northstar Families!

While many of you are familiar with me, I am honored and humbled to formally introduce myself as Principal of LUMIN Schools, Granville Lutheran School! I have been a member of the Granville Family for a number of years in various capacities which include parent, Teacher’s Aide, basketball coach, after school care coordinator, Middle School Math Teacher, and Assistant Principal. I am extremely invested in the success of our scholars. I believe that as a school leader, I should envision that my own biological children are students in each and every room in the building. If it wouldn’t suffice for them, it does not suffice for our scholars.

I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and attended Milwaukee Public Schools. I obtained my BA at Alverno College, My MPA at Concordia University Wisconsin, and my Ed.S at Northcentral University. As a doctoral candidate, I am preparing to defend my dissertation where I have focused on childhood trauma and classroom intervention. I am a wife and mother of three sons who all happen to be over a decade apart. Every 12 years, it appears, we add a new member to our family, which may indicate either that I am slightly deranged or that I have extensive experience with children. (Perhaps a little of both!) 

It is my genuine intention to build upon the awesome foundation laid by our former Principal, Dr. Trenae Howard, and to grow Granville to heights we have not yet encountered. At Granville Lutheran School we will focus on a Christ-like culture, literacy, and growth in all things productive. I am beyond grateful for your partnership with us and the trust that you have put in us to care for, love, and educate your prized possessions while creating in them a deeper love for Christ. Together, we are going to develop some amazing individuals who will leave these doors for high school as effective citizens.
